Re: Bankermane
WHile I only got to meet him in person a handful of times (why don't we tuna fish as a group anymore???) he was a great guy. Whenever we did a fund raiser here he was always one of the first to donate to a good cause. He always tried to use his gifts to help others, LOVED to shoot, and was funny as ...

Re: Commercial Ice Makers
The rule of thumb I have heard for a while on stand alone ice makers is always buy new, keep for about two years sell for about 1K and buy another new one. They are that prone to problems....

Re: r.i.p. bb
Back when in college in the 90's I loved to go see him at homecoming. I saw him a bunch and just never did get enough of him. Last I saw him was about three years ago, he could hardly walk to the stage and sat told a lot of stories and played a little. He still had "it", one of my favorite musicians ...

Re: Long range hog gun?
.260 is a great gun however it's hard on barrels. Something to think of long term.
I ve got one and never noted it to be an overbore barrel burner. .264 mag is a different story. Where did you catch wind of this Jeff?
I'll have to look into my notes. When I was deciding on the right caliber ...

If you can't find them look at the Hevi Shot 5,6, 71/2 combo. That is the most lethal load I have ever shot at turkeys.

Re: Long range hog gun?
Jeff, what gun do you have in the Creedmor?
I have a gun that I put together myself for the most part, I have Phoenix arms true the barrel and action. My gun is a 700 action with a Baretlin barrel, A5 MacMillian stock, Jewel trigger, and other parts I can't remember off the top of my head, but ...

Re: Long range hog gun?
7mm mag should do it have you tried sighting it in at that distance?
If you are going to start over the cheapest option would be a .308 you can find a lot of nice guns for sale in that caliber used with good glass to get the job done for 2K or less.
Another option and my preferred is a 6.5 ...

New Turkey Vest
Well after about 20 years I think it's finally time to retire my turkey vest. When looking for a new one I am considering something that allows you to sit without a tree. Cabela's makes a "kick stand" vest that seems nice with no tree but when using against a tree I could see it making it more ...
