Which Grinder To Buy?

Any of you on here who does their own meat processing got any ideas on a decent meat grinder? I will probably be grinding 2 or 3 deer a year and possibly some hogs in the summer. I'm looknig for a well built grinder that will be with me for a few years.

Re: TC encore vs CVA Apex

Haven't heard anything bad or good about the Apex but I bought an Encore last year and have taken two deer this year with it. One was 250 yards and the other was 264 yards. Both shots went where I planned. That's plenty accurate enough for me.

Re: Help needed, please

Not saying any of these are right or wrong but you really need to shoot it at 100 yards to be sure. It all depends on your setup. If you have high or low rings will determine a lot as to the point of impact at 100 yards vs 50 yards or even 25 yards.

Ever Seen A Deer Backbone Like This

This is the backbone from a doe one of my friends harvested back during primative weapon season. Have any of you ever seen one fuse together like this or have any idea what causes this? Friend said she wasn't acting strange or like anything was wrong before he shot. No signs of any previous injury e...

Since We Are On The Scoring Subject

Here's one my son got the other day. We saw this deer earlier in the hunt but he hooked up with a doe and we thought we wouldn't see him again. About 45 minutes later we saw the doe 400 yards away from us but she was headed back our way and he was hot on her tail putting on a good chase for my son t...

Re: 444 Missfire Gun or Ammo?

Not sure what my problem was. If I squeezed the trigger it would never shoot but if I snatched it, it shot every time. Anyhow I called Hadads and Jimmy did right by me and swapped the rifle out for another one. New one shoots fine. So far it's ten shots for ten shells using the same ammo as before. ...

444 Missfire Gun or Ammo?

Just courious if any of you or any of your buddies have had any problems with the Hornady LeverEvolution in the 444 Marlin. I bought a new Handi Rifle and ammo last week and have had several of the rounds not fire. Not sure if it is the gun or the ammo. Firing pin is hitting the primer but it isn't ...

Re: Is this normal?

When you are practicing with your bow, are you using field tips, fixed blade or mechanical braoadheads? If it shoots different with field tips than it does with broadheads of the same weight your bow is probably out of tune. Keep in mind that all bows IBO speed rating is caculated with a 30" dr...

Lucky Deer?

Just took one of my trail cams down and got this picture off of it. Looks like one of my neighbors made one mistake and almost made another one.

Here's a small 8 I killed a couple years back while my youngest son was hunting in the stand with me. It was the first time someone actually shot a deer while he was with them. I mounted it for him and he has it hanging in his room and is as proud of it like it was his first deer. http://img153.imag...

You boys got my mouth watering so much I'm gonna have to go get some fresh meat. My paw-in-law gave me a good jerky recipe. It's so simple, even our wives can do it without messing it up. Just take the tough cuts of meat from your deer and cut into strips about 1/4" thick. soak them in marinade...
