Re: Missing Duck unters - Not Sounding Good

I was just reading this post and it caused me to search for an update. According to an article in the Clarion-Ledger, March 31, 2021 they still hadn't found them. I'm sorry for the families. As a father, I can't imagine how they must feel nor do I want to. It's just awful.

Re: USM

I liked the Will Hall hire. Lot's of energy. Good connections to MS High School coaching network. His Dad, Bobby is the winningest in history. Recruiting class wasn't that highly rated but he got some good ones. Keys out of Taylorsville and Pitman out of Magee are a couple I'm fired up about. I list...

Re: USM

I graduated from Southern and was a season ticket holder until about 2 years ago when I just couldn't take it anymore. We traveled to most bowl games and had a big tailgate crew. Richard Giannini was the downfall of USM football. The whole deal with Larry Fedora taking the Hawaii Bowl before bolting...

Re: 65 days - They have come back

65 days approximately. They apparently grieved, mourned and moved on from the loss of their loved one. Now they are back to crapping all over my driveway. Moral to this story, waterfowl remember for quite sometime possibly for the whole season so when you shoot make it count.

Re: MS Wildlife Extravaganza Boycott

I haven't been to that in years. Too much sugar for a dime. Too crowded, too cluttered and too far into Jackson.

Re: It's been 61 days now

61 days now. I would have never thought it. Those suckers are way smarter than I thought. I guess it's like a dog who gets place sensitive.

We do have some ducks who have come in the yard from time to time after a yard rain. I guess they didn't see the original goose massacre.

Re: Need quick ideas

Mark Baker is the best candidate for AG IMO. Endorsed by the NRA, home builders, chamber of commerce and most law enforcement. He is a duck hunter (albeit not a good one), a conservative and a Christian. I've known him personally for many years. If you are undecided, I would encourage you to check h...

Re: It's been 55 days now

If I am doing my math right its been 55 days. The geese still haven't come back into my yard but they are starting to get closer to the boundaries.

Re: State of the Migration

Talking about no till - I don't know if this is BS or not but one of our landowners in SE AR leased to a farmer who practiced it. We had many good hunts over the years. It was always consistent. He eventually got sideways with the landowner and a new farmer started to lease it. Doesn't practice no-t...

Re: It's been 8 days

Day 13. Not a goose in the yard. Those suckers have a much better memory than I imagined. My neighbor even feeds some of those Asian geese that showed up from somewhere a few years ago and they are steering clear. I gues word got out.

65 days - They have come back

I've always wondered how smart waterfowl are. They seem smart when I'm trying to hunt them but do they really have a memory? I like many am cursed with local Canada geese. For some reason they love my yard more than my neighbors. It's like the goose chic filet. I also have a really fast well bred do...

I'm tired of bad weather and rain on the weekend

Is it me or does weather seem to turn to crap every weekend? The only good thing was I had a Dr from CA with me a few weeks ago and took him to Monroe, LA for a meeting. We were driving back and it got bad. Black sky, big loud lightening strikes, Hell, it was already flooded anyway. I started talkin...

Re: Anyone seeing ducks?

My excitement was short lived and my well laid out plan fell apart. My son and I went last Saturday with visions of fried turkey legs in our minds. Walked the whole place trying to locate him and not a peep. Being a turkey neophyte, will a strong cold front cause them to clam up? Sort of like ducks ...

Re: Onward Store

I hadn't been there in years since before the current owners bought it and turned it into a resteraunt. I enjoyed the chicken on a stick from the old place. It's sad to hear it's closing but there ain't a whole lot of folks out there to support it when it's not hunting season
