Re: Destin

Go to one of Sexton's fish markets, pick out 3-4 lbs of fresh shrimp and ask them to steam them while you wait, grab a quart of seafood bisque, a loaf of their french bread, a bottle of wine and go back to your balcony and enjoy the best meal you will have all week. Beats the heck out of traffic ...

Re: Ask DS: 410 or 20

If you can find a 20 that fits him both size and weight I'd sure try that first. Winchester, and I expect others too, have "low recoil" loads that are great for introducing kids. My son went from being nervous about shooting the 20 with low recoil loads to yelling "give me another box. I'm out" with ...

Re: Laws on selling taxidermy

So if a fella takes a couple of ducks to The Waterfowler to get some mounts done, then never pays for them or picks them up, the taxidermist has to give them away or throw them in the trash? Can't sell them to recoup his expenses?
Too many "Gosh Darnit" laws and regulations in this country. And it ...

You sure it's her hearing? Sounds like an Oedipal moment. Yes I am just kidding.

Re: where to find old labels

What about the difference in the reeds of the first one and the latter two?

Can't speak for that particular maker, but a lot of calls from that period went through a change from black to the more modern milky mylar. Also, it's entirely possible one would need to replace a reed later and be unable ...

Re: where to find old labels

Not that it's any sort of proof, but even if they were never used the cork on those should be extremely flat after years of sitting in the call.

Re: OT- Pre-Owned Rolex

They certainly don't come cheap. That said, put a little perspective on it. My father had a lot of art and nice (not crazy nice, but nice) guns. About the only thing he had that was worth more when he passed away than when he bought it was his Rolex.

Re: OT- Pre-Owned Rolex

skywalker,

Can't be of much help on the buying end, but I inherited a GMT Master and had it brought back to spec up here. Love the watch enough I wish I'd done without some things years ago to buy one for myself. You're also right about your son. Mine came to me from my father. Having his guns and ...

I was wrong. Not only will we be getting an Obama Christmas card, we'll also be getting cards on our birthdays and all the regular holidays.

Meeting the accountant to finish up tonight. It's going to be ugly. Bad enough I expect we'll get a Christmas card from Obama.

Re: Business owners: Open Carry Question

Guys,

Open carry has been legal for years in TN. Not all that many folks opt that way due to the various advantages of carrying concealed. That said, I've seen plenty of folks open carry, and I've never seen anyone pay any attention. I really think most folks assume they're just plain clothes ...

Re: Limit? legal or not

There's always somebody who wants to push the limits. Why not just stop at 29 and catch and release that 30th fish?

I don't have an issue with the law other than the fact it doesn't make sense. If it is indeed the law I'd have no problem staying within it, but it should be publicized since just ...
