I hunt on the river as well and we have plenty of deer but are not seeing much movement at all. Last year we saw 5-15 every hunt during October this year 1-3 on a good hunt. I hope this movement pattern is different in Nebraska I leave on Wednesday!

If you plan on shooting small deer the rage works ok. I experienced first hand it will not go through a 250+ lb deer if you get to close to the shoulder. to answer your question I shoot MX3 muzzys now I got 3 packs for like 64 bucks. I agree with the drop zone is a POS as far as i'm concerned. Hard to tune. I am however very impressed with the Rip-cord code red. A little spendy but worth the boot in my opinion.

Mink oil on the outside till they soften up a little then pour 1/2 a bottle of rubbing alcohol in each boot wear them for a couple hours and your done.

I ran my dog Rayne in started last weekend in Central La. The only problems I saw any dogs having is picking up ducks. Spend a couple days with birds if you haven't already. Very easy test go and enjoy yourself. BTW we brought home our first 2 ribbons!!
