Re: Swan Creek WMA blind draw day

Tica,

Do you know a guy that used to hunt out there and may still. His first name is Robert, worked for TVA, and made duck calls (Double Oak or Twin Oak??). Very serious duck hunter.

I worked with him at TVA several years ago. He shared some stories about Swan Lake. Very interesting.

Not sure Schlossnagle was ever a real candidate. I’m sure he got a nice raise.

Getting an established coach to leave is tough.

My guess is we end up with the ECU coach. He would be a great hire.

Re: skull or shoulder mount

Gps,

I'd shoulder mount that one in a heartbeat. May never see another one, much less kill another one.

Stacey,

Call Dan Heasley in Raymond. He does a great job. Tell him you got his name from me. I'm probably about to take something to him.

Re: Stocking pond with catfish

BW,

Why are you waiting for it to fill up completely? Most ponds get stocked when they are 1/4 to 1/3 full. Also, if you leave a pond empty during the growing season, I can almost guarantee you will get wild fish in the pond.

Re: Stocking pond with catfish

That was a problem in a buddy's pond. We put catfish in it and can't catch them. Tried everything. They will eat food but won't bite a hook. So mine is almost full after a $10k rebuild, and I'm going to put bass and brim in mine. I'm going to leave the catfish alone. Too much trouble for the dollar...
