Proper health care, good diet and conditioning, no genetic problems like bad hips...I would expect to be able to hunt them in some fashion til at LEAST 11 years old. But, like people, they're all different so it depends on the dog...and luck.

yep, used one in Alberta for a year or two then got smart and went to a layout blind. the goose chairs aren't as comfortable or effective in my opinion.

This is a common problem...you've taught the dog to go to you on "Here" now you're wanting him to stop in the middle of that action. My current pup was doing the same thing. An Amish technique would be to put a check cord on pup and around a post or to a tie out stake BEHIND the dog so that you can ...

Just tried calling Charlie at the number listed in the sticky..."no longer a valid number". Anyone got a current phone # for Charlie?

Thanks.

0.1cc/10lbs of 1% injectable. Overdosing is not as critical as I once thought. My vet has one of my dogs (70lbs) on 1.0cc PER DAY for the next 50 days for "possible" demodex. that's about 50 times the normal heartworm dose i figger!

you r wrong, pntail. force can be done once permanent teeth are in...usually around 6-7 month time frame. maturity of the pup and progress in training should be taken into account as well.

Kwakhead's recipe is very similar to one on the DU website for "Pan Seared Snow Goose Breast with peppers and onions. We just tried it last night and it was awesome! There are a lot of good recipes on the DU site.
