300 Gadwall/ 50 Greenheads
My new little lease near the Big Branch Marsh close to Slidell, LA has got em pretty thick. I was brushing the blind on Sunday afternoon and the Gadwall just kept dropping into our pond and the others around us. It oughta be good this weekend for the east zone opener.

Teal and a Woodrow
Hunted PRWMA too Saturday and Sunday. Killed a limit on Saturday (all teal and one woodie), then Sunday only killed two (one greenhead and one teal). You're right about the corn. There's one spot that every single duck in the parish want's into, and those guys limited both mornings. I hunted the ...

best duck guns and why
I love my SBE, but have to say the best gun I've owned is my Beretta AL390--it's nine years old has never missed a lick. The Benelli is so sweet, but has been back once for repairs--ejector pin--covered under warranty.

Fastest Teal hunt ever
I hunted with a friend near Lake Charles, LA last Thursday. It's a private place called the Illinois Plant--mostly rice field. Hunted out of fiberglass pit blinds, but not for long. We started shooting at 6:32am and had three limits by 6:47am. I didn't even get a chance to enjoy it! Wish ya'll ...

Louisiana Teal Results
Hunted Pearl River WMA opening day of early teal--three of us scratched down only three teal. Yes the water was high, but there just wasn't alot of birds down yet. Loaded up and went to the Wax Lake side of the Atchafalya Delta on Sunday and still only managed to kill four between two of us. Back at ...

Blind ideas
Just leased a little marsh that butts up to the Big Branch Marsh near Slidell, La. It's mostly salt grass with nice sized ponds with allot of fingers and points. I'd love to sink a pit, but the birds have allot of other places to land once they get a little pressure, so I was thinking of something ...

Good for you. I'm looking for one now near Picayune, MS. There's tons of grass everywhere this year with all the rain. Just pray for cold weather!

Beretta Shotgun
Gotta agree with everyone. I've gota 12ga. AL390 that's nine years old and it has NEVER missfired, jammed, or frozen up. It hardly kicks at all. I paid twice as much for a Benelli SBE (which I love), but it's had to go back for repairs and it's not but three years old. If they make a 31/2"--I'll buy ...

All your stuff looks so new and shiny!
Have you used that blind yet? If so, how does it work? Looks like a nice rig.

Thanks for the info. on the plug-n-plays. I don't care either way--I still deploy the old jerk string and some seductive calling--usually works.
Yes, I'm competing in the World Ch. again this year--won the MS. State again. Wish me luck! Calling ducks sure is easier!

Spinning Wing Decoys Outlawed?
Heard on New Orleans news that the Mojo's, Robo's, etc. were in fact outlawed. I have not confirmed this w/ any agency, but was wondering if anyone knew for sure. By the way, sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything---been between computers.
