Re: Band reports

Congrats on the banded Gadwall, Wildfowler! That is pretty unique.

I have a band off of a hen widgeon from many years ago.

Re: Does anyone still chase ducks?

I couldn't stop chasing them if I tried ....... I have come to realize that I am truly Addicted to Quack, ha!

Worst season down here in the South Delta that I can remember in a very long time ....

Weather looking promising for week of January 15th.

Good luck to y'all!

Re: New Nebraska license option. Please discuss

I remember reading about this last year in Delta Waterfowl's magazine. If I remember correctly it was basically the result of a new hunter survey about things you don't like about duck hunting, and the response had to do with identification and being scared of getting busted because they didn't know...

Re: Pistol for Deep Pocket Carry

To answer your question, yes, I practice with the same ammo that I carry. I carry a SW .380 Bodyguard and I try to pull it out of my pocket and unload an entire clip (6 rounds) on a water bottle, or whatever else is readily available, about once a month or so. I also carry a box of ammo in the conso...

Re: Pistol for Deep Pocket Carry

I have been carrying a Smith & Wesson M&P Body Guard 380 for about 3 years now, and it works very well for me. I got an add-on clip for it that allows it to clip to my pocket, which works great with jeans, but not so well with slacks. It has no hammer to get hung up on your pocket, and it ha...

Re: Good Books To Read

Hey Rustypjr, I got on to Bernard Cornwell while visiting a castle in England, from a guy giving demonstrations with long bows, and I have been hooked ever since, and have read just about everything he has written. Last fall I read the Starbuck Chronicles series, which are all American Civil War sto...

Re: Good Books To Read

I recently read "A Grateful American", Gary Senise's autobiography and it was very interesting. I'm currently about 2/3 thru "The Only Plane In The Sky" and I highly recommend it as the best account of 9/11 that I have ever seen. The author interviewed hundreds of people and had ...

Re: What the hell?

So what exactly does negative oil prices mean?

I know it can't be good for we the consumer, but I don't understand what it does mean.

Re: QuietKat

Yeah, Deltaduckman, I think these are the same way, as far as you can pedal it and/or use the battery power. They advertise speeds over 20 mph, and something like 30 miles on a full charge. There are a bunch of different brands and models, and most aren't geared towards the hunting industry, but the...

QuietKat

I have been looking at the various electric bikes for some time now, and yesterday I was in Bass Pro and they had several different models of QuietKats on display. They seem like a great tool for turkey hunting and bow hunting. Have any of y'all had any firsthand experience with these bikes?

Re: Yazoo Backwater Pump back in the news

I seem to recall hearing someone from the Corps saying that at one point they actually recorded something like 45,000 cfs flowing "upstream" in the Yazoo.

Re: Governor election

I think one of Bill Waller's strongest attributes is Leadership. Having served 20 years on the Miss Supreme Court, 10 of those as Chief Justice, and rising to the rank of Brigadier General in the Miss Nat'l Guard, tells me that he is a true leader and knows how to work with everyone. I think he will...

Re: Governor election

Yeah, and I don't know that Waller wants to change the flag.

Seems like I heard him respond to that question with Phil Bryant's standard answer, that it should be put before the voters.
