Re: Remembering Hardin

Patrick and Maggie are both in Arkansas. Patrick is going back to school for wildlife biology, and Maggie is doing well. They both appreciated Harden being mentioned on the "History of MSDucks" episode of Rocky's podcast.

Re: Looking for Quail

There is a guy on Swan Road in Gulfport, but he will not want to just sell 5 or 10. I can find his info if you would like.

Re: Sport stand

The MoMarsh stands are the best option on the market right now. I have both the basic stand and the InvisiLab, and tend to use the one with the "hut" most of the time, and just leave it on.

Re: Sport stand

Did sportstand go out of business? I have migrated over to MoMarsh stands, but Sportstand was the gold standard for many years.

Re: Grass for brushing layouts

We mostly use raffia grass in brown and natural/tan as a permanent "base layer," and then fill in with native stuff as needed as described above. Having a little "vertical" dressing as opposed to all "horizontal" dressing seems to make a difference. YMMV.

Re: Browning camo citori

DEET, and a lot of gun oils, will eat Duratouch UP. I was spraying myself down fishing one day, and watched DEET devour the face of my cheap fishing watch. And I am thinking: It eats plastic, and I am spraying this on myself..........:)

Can you not just get an old Citori that you like and then have it camo dipped?

Re: WHERE IS SHANE ROTEN???

I checked with a friend in the same town yesterday who told me Shane is not making any calls due to his pending divorce ("He can't get to his shop)." Can't verify that's correct, but it seems to be the word on the street. You can still check the call trading pages on FB, his calls pop up p...

We have stayed in TBI several times for HT's. Not plush, but never feared for me or mine's lives.

I don't know how to contact him, but he is still around. His calls come up fairly regularly on the "call trading" pages on Facebook.

Re: Butt-up motion decoys

I totally agree with Novocaine. The new ones that need a line/weight do not compare to the old ones with the battery box. We still have two we have been using since the first year they came out, but with new batteries. The new ones have less "pressure," and the connection from the pump to ...

Re: cold front ducks

Personally, I think this year (for my crew) was an aberration. Last year was fairly decent. This year there was just not a lot of water (like hardly any) in the North Delta due to lack of rain, and when the "tip of the spear" came through, there was only what was pumped early, and not much...

Re: cold front ducks

Ducks have been pretty scarce this year, even in this cold snap, but geese are everywhere.
