I'm looking for a good retriever training book. I have always started out with Water Dog, but you can only get so far with that. I also used Retriever Training for the Duck Hunter, But I want a sho nuff training regimen to use. Travis told me about one about 8 or 9 years ago and I can't remember ...

Yeah, that I know. And I actually told him he was crazy for leaving them out there on a public lake like that. He was still in amazement that we didn't see his decoys IN THE DARK!!

I don't want to be negative however I wasnt real happy with Seasoned. My dog is a HUNTING dog. He is a marking fool. When he marks a duck he goes to the mark when he DOESN'T SEE IT he goes looking for a cripple. The ducks in Seasoned were so water logged they sunk and he couldn't see it and there ...

Definitely take everything away but the bumpers! If he is a good retriever and really INTO THE RETRIEVING he will eventually realize he has to pick it up if he wants to keep playing!! As for the water. The only good ways of doing that is exactly what everybody has said. Get in the water and coax him ...
