I do not consider a shoveler a quality or non quality duck. As a matter of fact I do not consider it a duck at all. I believe it is a carp with wings. AKA skycarp. Therefore when I am duck hunting, I do not shoot at them because I am not fishing.

Tell you what guys, I know this may sounds hard to believe, but there are actually a lot of places in the delta that look like umm, every other break, slough, flooded timber, field or whatever. Hmmm... looks like that place with the water and willows, and trees- you know, that 1 place in the delta ...

if you saw that many, very good chance it is a roosting spot only or mostly. Have not seen a great number of birds over the weekend- went looking most of the day Saturday. Did not hunt this weekend-
