Giving away Yellow Lab

A close friend of mine (non-hunter) has a 1.5 year old yellow lab female and a new baby. Seems that the baby is staying and the lab is going. He is just looking for a good home. She sits and will fetch all day. Please spread the word.

Outboard size for River hunting??

To some of you with experience hunting ducks on the MS River..... what size outboard is needed/recommended? I'll be using a 17' jon V-hull. I'd rather have a tiller, but it's only rated for 50 hp. I can get 80 hp with a console/steering wheel. Is the extra hp really needed?

Best location for a pit in a field??

Question for many of you field hunters:
We have three 40 acre fields that we will be flooding for the first time next year. They are all identical square fields. 40 acres is a little large to be shooting over, so I'd like to sink some pits in them. Where should I place the pits? (other than ...

Milo for ducks

Thanks for the info. Those pics look good. I've never planted milo in my duck holes and I thought it might be promising. I've got 40 acres of corn, 10 acres of japanese millet, and 20 acres of wild barnyardgrass in the field now. Will probably mix in some milo next time. What's the maturity date for ...

Best time for breeding?

I like to breed at least 10 times per month. I made sure that was in my pre-nup.

Buck and Bass store?

There is also a "Buck and Bass" store in Jackson, TN right on the north side of the interstate. The new Bass Pro Shop in Memphis should have what you need. It's on I-40 also. Buck and Bass does have some high prices.

We've got low delta buckshot ground. I've heard that nutall acorns are large. Are they too large for the ducks to swallow or are they ok? How popular are Pin Oaks?

Hailcall to Dr. Duck 2000

Hey Duck,
How'd you like that stellar retrieving performance last week? I tell you, with a lot of money, years of hard work and determination, one day you might have a dog like mine. If you need a copy of my new book "How to train a retriever not to retrieve" I'll be glad to send you a copy free of ...
