Re: New to Starkville

i'm sure your frustration is on the uptick over limited feedback on the info you seek on a public site, but anatidae is the furthest from a troll you'll find on this site...no joke It was joke. I'm past the information seeking, I stepped on some toes which I never intended to do. I didn't know the ...

Re: New to Starkville

Only thing worse than an Internet scouter is somebody 'needy' enough that can't keep their mouth shut for wanting a total stranger to think they're 'in-the-know' about a place to go duck hunting. Think about it - is anybody stupid enough to send someone looking for a place to hunt in any direction ...

If you are still looking PM me. I know a guy in TN who has a black male. Awesome blood line and I've seen him work in person.

Re: New to Starkville

Didn't mean to cause a stir with all this but I see yall's points. I'm still new to all this just trying to get some tips from more experienced hunters. I've made some progress on public spots by word of mouth and hope to make progress from there this fall when I'm back at school. Man you ain't cau...

The blank blank waterway Blank blank wma Blank refuge Blank creek Here's another tip for you. Study topo maps and pay particular attention to creeks and such. Ride around the private lands that border the blank refuge. See if you can find some low lying areas that temporarily flood after heavy rain...

Re: New to Starkville

Let us not pussyfoot around, you are Internet scouting. The bad kind of Internet scouting. The most offensive thing about an "innocent little ole me" Internet scouter is not so much the fact that you are being lazy; it's the fact that you're playing everyone for a buncha fools. Here's how...

But in my original post I made sure to say I don't want your honey holes I just want to know general areas that you are allowed to hunt. Retrieving Issues

So I've run into a problem while training my lab. We finished force fetch about two weeks ago and have moved to the ground. We started marking last Monday and he's not too sure about retrieving. Force fetch was easy, he took pressure well and held bumpers of all sizes well. But once on the ground he...

Re: New to Starkville

Re: New to Starkville

I have not heard any good things about the wma's around here, if I go wma it's Howard Miller or Muscadine and we are lucky to get a one man limit most days. I have been told of a few public land spots in this area I just don't know how to start scouting.

New to Starkville

Okay so I have just recently moved to Starkville, I am attending Mississippi State. I am looking for some advice as to where some good duck hunting is. I'm not asking for your honey holes just some general discussion on where I can start scouting. I recently acquired a lab to hunt with and want to p...
