Turkey nest

I live in N AL just south of Huntsville. Have a hen on a nest in my pasture sitting on 9 eggs. Never seen one on a nest on the 4th of July. Almost ran it over bush hogging but didn't. That was 4 days ago and she's still there. Rained almost 4 inches since then. Gonna be curious to see how it goes.

Re: Turkey Load Test

Youth model 870 20 ga. tricked out with tactical stock and red dot. Shoot an Indian Creek Black Diamond choke and tried everything in it. Finally settled on Hevishot Magnum Blend. To tell you the truth, most everything was pretty good but the Magnum Blend was better at 20, 30 and 40. I think this ch...

Re: New Duck Blind

Strap 4 x 4s vertically and run stringers down the blind. 4 x 4 will allow you to put big stuff vertically which will make your brushing issue much more tolerable.

Gravity Feeders

How many of you use them and do you have problems with coons actually eating oUT of the feeder. Just trying to keep from feeding more coons than deer.

Re: Poultry siting thread

Sounds like a decent hatch. My son ran into a gobbler strutting two days ago at the end of his driveway. He's in Webster County. He also saw another one strutting on the other side of the county where he works. Two gobblers strutting 30 miles apart in mid June. Gotta be some re-nesting going on, I s...

Can somebody post what happened? I saw him in January over at the RNT shop I thought. Was he sick or was it something sudden?

Re: General Discussion on the Season

Thanks guys, that's exactly what I was looking for. Confirmed what I already thought! I live in Huntsville and hunt north and east of there. I heard on our local news last night that we got 12 in. of rain in March and 12 in. in April. 14 days into May and none. I know that affected our season here b...

Re: General Discussion on the Season

That's pretty much the same experience we had. We saw lots of jakes also! Wholeheartedly agree on moving the season back about 10 days. Maybe it's just a cycle but the first 10 days of May for the last few years were perfect turkey hunting weather. That is probably better left to biologist though an...
