Re: RNT

I've only owned a few RNT's, and this problem is why 2 of the 3 I currently have are wood. I don't have near the trouble with the wood calls sticking, unless of course they are soaking wet and it's freezing cold. I have the Short Barrel and the Timber Hawg in wood, and have the Daisy Slayer in acryl...

I'll be attending, but am too old, professional and out of touch for the extra-curriculars.... I'll go for the tunes

Re: Question about the "X"

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I certainly agree with this. The holes that have "history" are very hard to come by and when one does become available it usually is not advertised. For those of us that did not grow up with duck hunting in the family or have good contacts it proves very difficult to get in...

Re: New Job

I've always wondered what it would be like working from home. Although my company, by trade, involves alot of outside/field work (nat. resources/environmental), a good portion of what we do is office based (reporting, presentations, correspondence etc). I also manage our geographic information syst...

Re: Question about the "X"

Some $.02....learn to call extremely well and respond to duck's flight. This time of year I'd suggest use 3 hens and 1 drake mallet on a jerk rig. Have another jerk rig with 1 sprig and 3 hens(sex card). Also couple barbellies off to the side. Be completely hidden and away from any high profiles as...

Re: It's amazing

Just shows you these people are more after braggin rights or the horns/kill rather than being a sportsman or outdoor conservationist. ETA: Not saying by any means this only applies to deer hunters...... there's just more of them than duck hunters/turkey hunters etc so there are more examples of tomf...

Re: Dog food scams

Science Diet is barely any better than regular junk dog food like basic Purina. It has marketed itself extremely well and vets put it in their practices because Hills hires vets out of school to be health food consultants. This is why a huge number of vet nutrition instructors were past Hills or Pu...

Re: Dog food scams

I went through all the grain free to try to find one where my dog wouldn't scratch out all his fur on his belly. Taste of the Wild is the one he can do. $42 for a bag off Amazon, and he goes through a bag a month. If you can't afford $42 a month, you cant afford a dog. Beats the Walmart stuff where...

Re: Franchi Intensity

Anyone shoot this gun? I currently shoot a beretta xtrema 2 with a 28 inch barrel. Thinking about getting a lighter gun with a 26 inch barrel I have an intensity with a 28" barrel. I love it. Swings and shoulders well and is light. Of course I'm partial to it, but I'd put it up there with any ...

Re: Rate The Season - 2014-15 Edition

Started off an 8 or so on the 1st few weeks.... then slowed to a 3 or 4 and ended as a 0 for me. Didn't get to hunt much late season when the birds finally seemed to arrive, but finished with 3 straight skunks to end the year. I'd average my season as a 5 as a whole based on the number of birds.... ...

Re: How many of you keep a log book?

I started one last season, but didn't update it religiously like I did this season. I didn't get too detailed... Hunt #, Date, Location, Who was in the group, which dog(s) we used and then harvest breakdown of species and gender. Used those numbers to get totals for the hunt group as a whole, and I ...
