If any of you Ole Miss fans are coming up here for the Vandy game and are looking for something to do Friday night, DU's Nashville chapter is having their banquet this Friday night at Bass Pro Shops (Opry Mills). Things get started around 5:30; dinner catered by Jacks BBQ (restaurant with the flying ...

Crow made me think of something I have heard about but never tried - hiding under some visqueen or plastic to make it look like water. (The premise is that the visqueen looks like water from above.) Some of you more experienced hunters may be able to give more details about that.

GulfCoast - yep, that's the trip I was talking about. I also did it when I was in high school. It was the only time I have ever caught a wallye or northern pike.

I help out with a troop up here now and next July I am going to hopefully head out to Philmont with them. It will be hard to take two ...

Best nature-type trip I ever went on was to Ely, Minnesota. Two weeks of canoeing the Boundary Waters in Minnesota and Canada was incredible. Went to the Rockies for the first time last year - also incredible.

By the looks of the poll, I would say Haley has nothing to worry about. (Hell, one of the votes for Musgrove was mine and I'm a non-resident!) Good luck to whomever you support.

I should say I am not trying to vote anybody's accent, just using that as an illustration of their differences. Sorry to confuse.

I do not live in Mississippi. I was raised in Vicksburg and still like to keep up with MS politics, however. I hope nobody takes offense at me putting my two cents in. I realize that my opinion is probably in the minority too.

I think Musgrove would be best for Mississippi because he lives in ...

I hunt with a Golden and have been very pleased. I think you should definitely consider buying from a hunting line, though. Goldens are such popular pets that they have been bred for show and fluff (e.g., long flowing white-ish coats) and many feel that the breed in general has lost some of its ...

I am no expert, but I think I read on here a while back that the ducks supposedly liked the oil from the sweet potatoes as they decomposed in the flooded field. Good for their feathers, I think? If I remember correctly there was also some discussion about using molasses in a duck hole for the same ...

I think it is gonna be very hard for anybody to beat Bush. However, I like Clark and I think if anybody can give Bush a run for the money, it's probably Clark or maybe John Edwards. A lot depends on what voters are more interested in next year - if it's national security, Bush (and Clark) is strong ...

Brake man,

Sounds like typical Middle TN duck hunting to me, at least as far as my experience has been. 1500-2000 people vying for 80 blinds that don't even get many ducks - crazy! I live in west Nashville and hunt primarily around Cheatham - my group drew 8th this year and we got a decent blind ...
