Re: Breeding

Plenty of Good Stud Dogs that are not Carriers. Breeding EIC Carrier pups is a real pain if you do it right and ethically.

Here is one that is an awesome dog and his pups are looking good. Several others on the At Stud pages you could look into. Also, go the the HRC Website and look at the studs ...

Re: What to do about dogs that switch

I must say that I got a chuckle out of your posts. Seriously though, I have experienced all those problems and when the non dog owning clients are upset you have a responsibility to them to assure them a good hunt, at least that is my thought. If the dog owner has an unruly and untrained dog he is ...

Re: What to do about dogs that switch

Thanks for the response guys, all were good. I do get pretty anal retentive about untrained or should say poorly trained retrievers or retrievers that disrupt or otherwise degrade the hunt.

My view stems from commercial hunting where folks are paying big money to hunt and taking their vacation time ...

Re: What to do about dogs that switch

That is a very helpful post and you are right, she is nearing the end of her hunting life span if not entirely. No point in trying to make him do what is necessary to fix her because truth is the switching is not the only issue. Basically, she has been trained poorly all along, her force fetch was ...

What to do about dogs that switch

A question on teaching an old dog new tricks.
Over the years I have hunted with lots of folks and dogs, more often than not, I am compelled to tell a Hunter to take his dog to the truck because it is disruptive, be it barking, moving around, breaking just as the birds are cupped up etc. won't ...

Re: potential breeding -GRHRCH SRSx2 Big Black Dude II MH pu

Kevin-just ran across your thread on 3xSRS GRHRCH Big Black Dude II MH. I don't come on here very often.

In response to interest in Dude, I have some hunting buddies looking for pups and are interested in Dude pups. Just spent four days with them Duck Hunting in Guntersville and they hunted over ...

Re: Ashland Kennel in W. Georgia?

I have known her since the late 90's. She bred some of her females to my Stud dog and to his offspring when they became titled as well.

I am not aware of anyone complaining about pups from my Stud Dog at all.

She services and breeds pups from field trial and hunt test ancestors. As is true with ...

Re: Land between the Lakes

I cut my teeth on duck hunting up there. My Dad retired and lived on Lake Barkley until he died, we were five minute boat ride from the boat house to what the locals know as " The Duck Pond" a DU and KYDNR project. My first retriever picked up her first ducks right there back in 1986.
