Re: would you want a rule in hrc...

I don't get the opportunity to run very much HRC but when I do I enjoy it and the folks there. I have to pass on an observation made at an event earlier this year by a client that was handling his started dog. " You mean I have to put camo face paint on and can't were dark brown pants to run my dog ...

Re: Daughter assaulted....

I had a similar incident several years ago, daughter now in Grad. school. I did not keep my cool and beat the crap out of the little s.o.b. threw him in the back of my car and took him to his daddy's house. Drug him to the front porch and knocked on the door, his father came to the door and I ...

Remote release made from a walkie talkie

Just thought I would post this link to a page to make remote releases using your walkie talkie. Sounds like a great idea for fairly inexpensive remotes.

m

Wish some one would come up with a way to utilize a walkie talkie to make sound in the field that is louder than my tri tronics. In some ...

Re: What is REALLY a controlled break...HRC test...

Travis

Where I guess I am having a problem with the controlled break issue is not in the creeping but in the way it is looked at by the two games.

If a dog moves from the handlers side it is a creep no matter if it is 6" or 6' the dog moved. If the handler says nothing then even though the dog ...

Re: What is REALLY a controlled break...HRC test...

I guess this is where I start having a little problem with the culture (for lack of another word) between HRC and AKC. Control is not nor should it be cumulative, if a dog is not showing proper control on the line then he is out. It is up to the judge to decide what control on the line is in that ...

Re: What is REALLY a controlled break...HRC test...

Never have understood nor will I ever, the reason why any national club or set of judges advocate two standards. One for the weekend and one for the Grand, surely the tests themselves should give you what you look for in a Grand Hunting Retrieving Champion without a different set of rules/ standards ...

Re: Going to build a new Tech Pond....1st step......

One other thing I want to mention, if possible I would let some of the trees stay in the lake possible in a corner or one end. As they die out you would get natural fall downs and have a natural stick pond. Especially if you selected which trees to leave where. I would also leave some of the trees ...

Re: Going to build a new Tech Pond....1st step......

I like the last drawing as well, if I were to ad anything it would be an additional point on the top bank making it longer or shorter than the other point there. This would give you the ability to do a by the point over the point concept very easily or move an get a double entry. If you made the ...

Re: A Big thank You to Mid South AKC

I marshaled Master A with probable two of the most knowledgeable judges I have been around in quite some time. Bird placement was great and mechanics of the tests were easy to work, made my job just that much easier. Not to many times does a Master test go into the last series with 21 dogs or so and ...

Looking forward to this test, first time I have ran in Bruce and I know these are some terrific grounds. I am going to be Marshalling at Senior and running a big ole' black dog in Masters, when you get a chance stop by and say hello.
