Re: New shotgun
If he is middle aged or better, he would probably appreciate the Maxus. I haven't had the Monday blue shoulder in three years. One of these days, you youngsters will understand the importance of a sweet light kicking shotgun that still goes bang-bang-bang.

Re: Dove season to open Friday, September 4th at noon
On a Friday? Where did that come from? How many times have I been dove hunting the day after "they" had an unbelievable hunt yesterday with everybody getting the limit in 10 minutes, etc. to watching the dragon flies and not much else the next. Anybody else have to work for a living?

Re: PO Box required
I will be so glad when USPS finally caves in...they have rules and regulations to fit every situation they *don't* want to do. Any other company would look at you as a customer and bend over backwards to make sure there was a destination for sent mail. Most inefficient organization ever. Good luck w...

Re: Lasik ?
That is some great info there....seems sorta like IPhones, hate to lock in on a 6 when there will be greater and better down the road. As many of you that duck hunt know, contact lenses have their limitations, and glasses are mostly miserable in weather and wading through limbs before daylight can l...

Think I will wait on the FDA approval of the Symfony lens since I have early signs of cataracts anyway...seems to be the bomb.

Re: Opening day of Dove Season.... how was it?
Have hunted a paid field for several years now that only has afternoon hunts. Was ok but not great as in years past. Decided about 3 pm that me and the dog can't/won't take that heat anymore. Like Clint Eastwood says, a man has got to know his limitations, and a self-inflicted heat stroke for a chan...

That is nothing short of awesome! Accessorize with Kevlar skin under the boards and shotguns, it could have had double duty as a float in the Greenwood Christmas parade....

Re: rain gear - frogg toggs
When I first got mine I snagged the arm on a bob wire fence, put some duct tape on the inside and it's held great for 2 years and counting. Better than a rain suit because it wads up small in a draw string bag and will be cool in hot weather and just dress accordingly for cold.

With apologies to gubment workers, I can't see from my hill that the gubment has shut down. Just maybe it's a sign the gubment could actually do more with less. Oh yes, before you say it, I saw where the couple couldn't get married at the Grand Canyon because of the shutdown....

Re: Browning Maxus not cycling 2 3/4" shells
Look at the big spring on the magazine under the forearm cover. It's hard to tell if the spring is broke or not....if broke, it will appear loose in the housing. That seemed to be an issue with the earliest releases of the Maxus, but I think the later issues have been fixed. Just a thought.
