nice little early January hunt!

Great Stuff!! thanks for the pic too!! We picked up 9 on Saturday, choked on a few. Then the front pushed them out for Sunday, still great feeling weather

reports are that south Louisiana is already stacked up, they must be moving early. Usually we do very well the last weekend, but every year is a little different

We have a few Teal as of last weekend (50), we are hoping they continue to build. Looking forward to this cooler weather but am afraid this front may push them out. Lets hear the reports about the Teal, this place is too damn quiet!

5 ponds in moist soil, 3 ponds beans farmed then flooded. 5 pounds and 1 duckhouse with wood stove. 3 members currently for duck dove,goose and rabbit. We have access to more acreage surrounding us as well.

Not trying to steal a thread here but, is the aquatic 2-4-D called Rodeo? Also would this be useful in killing willows in standing water?

We went to MO on a hunt a few years ago and the guide took us over to a nearby refuge that was over 10,000 acres of flooded habitat. He said that 1/10 of every penny spent in MO goes to conservation. I did not know that. He said the state NEVER lets the refuge water freeze up, even after their seas...

its just like the snapper season on the coast, open it up in the summer so you have to run out 10-30 miles to catch them when in the winter they are almost on the beach. Just doesn't seem like a lot of common sense is being applied to the season dates. whether there are a million birds or not.

We are all happy to see a few once the season begins certainly, and recently the birds have been thin until mid January. Mississippi flyway federal frame work allows us to hunt until the last Sunday in January. Always seems to early for us in the deep South! Believe our season is cut short due to supposed pairing up of the birds but they don't mate for 3 more months....don't believe any of the birds would have trouble...
