Decoy Spread and Calling Tips
I would love some suggestions on the most effective decoy spread (Shape, size, & species) for hunting a +/- 100 acre watershed. We have had a little luck with passing ducks, but we are having more ducks make one or 2 passes (out of shooting range) then flying off. We are in a spot where the duck...

Re: Farm Pond
At any given time in the morning through mid afternoon you can see 50-75 birds on this pond (about 60/40 woodies). I had my limit right at 6:30 this morning and only shot 9 times. There were birds still flying over when I was picking up my decoys. To my knowledge this was the first and only time thi...

Farm Pond
Hey guys, I'm fairly new to duck hunting so I have what some may call an "elementary" question. I have a 1 acre farm pond that is covered in woodies and mallards. I hunted it this morning and killed a limit pretty quick. Would this spot be good tomorrow morning being that I shot it this mo...

Re: fertilizer question
Quit wasting money on Triple 13 and other generic bag stuff. We did soil samples and fertilized by their recomendations and have the best looking plots we've ever had.

Re: Food Plots Look Bad
We planted the last weekend of September, right when the dry spell hit. I called my extension office and he recomended over seeding with larger seeds (wheat & oat) a couple hours ahead of a rain; he said the clover would be fine. He was exactly right! Our plots look perfect.

Re: Just got me a new toy - Rem 700 SPS 7mm08
I have had mine going on 10 years now and wouldn't trade it for anything and my wife shoots a youth model! I shoot 140g Federal Accubonds, but they are getting hard to find so I decided to try the remington Accutip 140g and they have almost identical performance. Most of my kills have been <100yds a...
