Big Trouble For Hunters from Obama Nominee

Call your senator, defeat this nomination. He is a animal rights radical. Wall strett may like him for money reasons, he is bad news for hunters.

Re: Season Dates, They shorted us a weekend

Nov 22 and 23 = 2
Nov 28-30 = 3

Thats 5 so far., with one split.

Dec has 31 days, take away Christmas (as I said), thats 30 days open in Dec

5+30= 35, Are you still with me?

Jan 1-25 = 25

35+25=60, at least the last time I checked. Are you on the commission?

So yes, we lose 6 days and part of a weekend in january. What could have been done, is to open the season on Nov 22 and 23 ...

Any news on 2008 pond counts?

I am afraid we may be in for 45 day season since saskatchewan and mannitoba have been reported to be dry. I saw wisconsin had numbrs of birds up from 2007, but can't find anything out from other areas yet. California posted theirs a while back, but doesn't effect Mississippi flyway.

Anyone have ...

Yes Blue wings are late nesters, but the number that is down are the ducks that returned. it's not blue wing nest's that are down, it's adult bluewings. the late rains will help the success of the BW nests, but there will be no survey specifically for that to look and see, especially since they have ...

probably liberal framework, if trends in Great Lakes hold up

It all comes down to the Great lakes survey. For a 60 day season, total mallards has to be 8.25 million, Given the canadian pond counts of 2.5 million. Right now, the mallard count from the traditional survey area is at 7,425,300. So, if you want a 60 day season, then you better hope they find at ...

You have to have 3 days in november, so 23, 24, and 30. That will give you the usual, for miss. at least, weekend, then close during the week and reopen on a sat and run straight through. and for everyone worried about holidays, that gives you thanksgiving off.

please do not close any dec or jan ...

Season Dates?

I can tell you this, the only reason we didn't get a moderate 45/6 season last year was becasue of the high pond counts. if they drop at all with the same number of birds, we will get teh moderate choice. But also remember, they are changing the way the estimate the mallard counts this year and it ...

Rain in the North

I've seen reports on other boards, so take that for what its worth, that some of these rains are actually bad because they are washing out the nests.
