Re: Aggressive behavior

this may sound crazy but may be worth looking into. Since you would like him to be able to flip a switch on his aggression more for your protection like you mentioned in your 2nd post have you ever thought about consulting with or sending him for a bit to a someone who trains defense dogs or police...

Re: Aggressive behavior

How qualified are you at training a dog? I ask that because you have a problem and it sounds like it could be a very big problem if you don't train that aggression out of him. The good news is that you have a good opportunity to do this training since you take him everywhere with you. Good luck. I'...

Aggressive behavior

Not much activity in the gun dog forum so I'm posting this here. I have a 4yo male chocolate that has become mildly aggressive the last 6 months. I've had him since he was a puppy and he knows basic commands and is for the most part obedient. He's blood trailed deer for me and my friends since he wa...

Re: Vet

I use Dr. Libre at Rankin Animal Clinic. He's a good ol boy who likes to hunt as well. He's always been knowledgable and doesn't just throw this/that/the other at your pups issue to rape your pocket book.

Re: Thinking my new camp is gonna be a bust

Jamie Barnes is a big outlaw from all accounts. He poaches, and spotlights with The Kabbes boys out of Clinton. 3 years ago he killed a 140" 8 pt off Kickapoo Road before church one morning. The deer come off a buddies family land and they have tons of trail cam pics of the deer but he claims ...

Re: Bushnell Trail Cameras

I still think it will. The first time I noticed it I had the camera in the woods. I pulled the card to check it, and I didn't have a single picture for days, then on one day there were dozens, and then no more. In the dozens of pictures on that one day I couldn't see anything that might have trigge...

Re: Bushnell Trail Cameras

I suppose you could be right. I'll see if I still have the pictures and them up. You made me question myself though so last night I stepped off the most recent ones and the deer were at approximately 115yds from the camera. Either you have the time lapse on or you have a Trophy Cam on super steriod...

Re: Bushnell Trail Cameras

I have one and all in all I love it. On the lowest sensitivity setting it will trigger on very small movement out to probably 100 yds or so if it is directly in front of the camera, BUT yesterday I watched a STUD through the binoculars parade around in front the camera for about 5 minutes. When he ...

Re: land law question

I have 402 acres in Madison county. I've been hunting it for 12 years with no problem about 2 years ago the city annexed it. Tonight I came out and a Madison P.D officer told me I had to stop hunting it. I heard there was a grandfather claus that protected the land owner or some law out there. Plea...

Re: DIB's deer score

Here is a 115" 8 pt for comparison. Now I know what DIB said the beams were appx 25" on his deer, well this buck has 18" beams so thats a diff of 12 right there, but this 8pt has 11" g2s and 8" g3s, equal or better mass, and brows. Still don't see it making 130". http:/...
