Re: "Taken"

Me and the old lady went to see it opening weekend, and the place was sold out. I didn't hear a negative comment about the movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Re: ducks ducks ducks!

I went to Stuttgart before Christmas and saw ducks and geese on every hole around Stuttgart. It was ridiculous.

Re: tomorrow's weather.....

yesterday was a bummer...got four wood ducks but they don't know any better to leave with the other ducks. Depressing is a good word to sum up the morning.

Re: Askew

I agree about the pumping situation. "They" are pumping a field off to the left of the shop that is grown up taller than I am. As far as I know there is no hole in the middle of it, so what's the point in doing that? "They" didn't do anything with the fields to open up places for ducks to land. How ...

Re: anybody been to the Crystal Grill lately?

Me and my old lady went a couple of Saturdays ago for lunch, and it was amazing. There was no wait, but the place started filling up once it got closer to noon. I havn't had a bad meal yet and can't wait to go back.

Re: Askew

It would be nice to drive in there, but it also cuts out on some of the competition. I guess everything has a positive and a negative.

Re: Full Moon = Bad Hunt

Hunted a timber hole that has held a good many ducks this year and tried hunting it Saturday...but ended up being me and my dog sleeping on a log. Ducks were not interested in us and not much was in the air. Thinking back on it, I have never had a good hunt during a full moon.

Re: McAlister Coat Question

I have a McAlister fleece button down shirt that is in the olive color. On days when I don't need my coat, I'll wear that and it blends in just fine in the timber. I guess the olive is the same for all products, but mine is a very dark olive.....not bright at all.

Re: windy ducks

Me and another guy hunted this morning, and there were ducks all over us. They would come in and sit still in the wind trying to land. Made for an interesting hunt and ended up being one short of the limit.

GW question

I'm planning on taking my little brother hunting sometime this month. The only places that I know to take him are WMAs. Does my little brother (10 years old) have to have a WMA permit? I know that people after 16yrs have to have one just to set foot on the place. Does the same rule apply to a youth?

Re: Leaving decoys in the water

I would think leaving them out makes them fade much quicker. However, I've hunted over some that people left out all season and still killed ducks.

yeah that was definately them. They had them a little get together the night before too. Had all kinds of folks runnin around the boat ramp. It looked like they had a good bit of money invested in their gear. I could see the rich type in them Instead of the El Camino crew, this is the Range Rover ...
