Re: State of the Migration

I’m definitely not a biologist in any way, there are area where ducks have been landing for millions of years and I doubt those spots (which are few are far between) will ever change, but yesterday I drove through a part of the South Delta, the flooding was so sad, there will be 100’s of 1000s of ac...

Re: small dog training

Know its frustrating! Have you tried crate training? Put to dog in a kennel, let it out to pee and crap, then back in the kennel, it should figure it out on it’s on, don’t Pee or poop where you live, my last 2 dogs were crate trained, 1 went 13 years before he made a mess in the house and then it wa...

Re: Any veterinarian's on here?

Anyone in Filgo’s clinic is a great vet! For what it’s worth, my last lab was an 85 pound meathead (loved him to death), but he was wrapped pretty tight too, at 4-5 (I think), he partially tore his ACL, not bad enough for surgery but was favoring his rear leg, I crated him, forced him to rest, only ...

Re: Does it bother anyone else

Some people have no clue what things cost. I’ve got a friend with plenty of money, he point blank asked me to take him dove hunting, I told him that we’d planted sunflowers that had failed (deer ate them) and even if it didn’t look like it, my partners and I had a good bit of $$ in the field, he off...

Re: Need a taxidermist.....

Several choices around Jackson,
Ellis Solomon in Brandon
Dan Heasley in Raymond
Jimmy McGuire in Clinton.
Don’t know any in Madison or Ridgeland. Don’t know whether or not they still do it but somebody was, at one time, picking up from the buck shop doing skull mount pretty cheap, might check there

Re: Rifle Qustion

I don’t have one but two of my friends bought a savage combo. for their kids, one actually bought 2, 1-243, the other a 7mm-08, he says they shoot great and we’re pretty inexpensive but I don’t know how much they cost (maybe aound $300, I think for rifle and scope?)

Re: appraisal question

Historically, most appraiser would have gathered sale without timber and then add the timber’s value, based upon a cruise, there are still some appraisers that do it that way, but at that time we were dealing with much less valuable land and, at the time, that was how the real estate market figured ...

Re: CWD found in MS delta.

There was discussion about this on Supertalk (you can google it) and a new article both said something similar, a hunter saw the deer a few days before or the day before it died, the hunter reported it to MDWFP saying he’d seen a sick deer, the interview in Supertalk said the hunter went to his stan...

Re: CWD found in MS delta.

DanP, I agree with you, I’m as concerned about this as anyone, I’d suspect, right now, all MDWFP is trying to find out us how wide spread this is, sampling 300 deer within the somewhat immediate area, if more deer are shown with CWD, then they will expand the area until nothing shows up, at this poi...

Re: CWD found in MS delta.

Hoping this would not happen but suspected, eventually, that it would, this could change the whole game
