One of The Great Ones!

“The good ones go too soon, but the good Lord knows why I guess”

This quote never hit as close to home as it has in the last few days among the Ducksouth community. In times like these it is incredibly tough to try and find understanding in an event so tragic, yet if Ronnie was here his gentle voice would know exactly what to say.

My heart breaks for everyone who was fortunate to know Ronnie. His beautiful wife, his handsome son, countless friends and hunting buddies, many who are members of the site, have lost one of the purest hearts in a human being this world has ever known. In the last few days I have seen an incredible outpouring of support for Ronnie’s family as well as photos and posts that shine directly on just how great of a guy Ronnie was. To see his smile while holding a strap full of greenheads and the love in his eyes for his family are enough to melt the heart of any man, myself included.

There is a major void to fill in the lives of those who were close to him and we may never know why the good Lord took Ronnie as early in life as he did. It will always be hard for young Noah to understand why his hero was stripped of life. I’ve been that kid, sixteen years ago, when my mom had to tell me that my father wasn’t coming home and it pains me to know that Noah is facing the same thing now. But, because God made Ronnie so loveable, there is a huge fan base who will now be cheering on Ronnie’s son at ballgames and will be there to pat him on the back when he lands his first group of mallards with his father’s calls. There are also countless arms to wrap around his sweet wife when she needs someone to talk to. These are reasons why God made friends and he made sure Ronnie had no shortage of them! Rest in peace “rjohnson”

God Bless the Johnson family.

Stay strong Ducksouth community.
